An insulator with a rated voltage of 126kV, 252kV bending and breaking load of not less than 12kV and a climbing electrical ratio of 25 mm/kV, developed by the umbrella skirt, can withstand the highest operating phase voltage for a long time at 0.12 mg/2 salt density, i.e. the climbing electrical distance of insulator III, and can withstand the pollution of the IV salt equivalent.

An insulator with a rated voltage of 550kV with a crawl ratio of 25 mm/kV can operate for long periods with 0.06 mg/kg and 2 grade salt density.
